Eligibility

Contestants generally must have Steuben County, Indiana residency to be eligible to participate in the Angola’s Got Talent contest. Exceptions to the residency requirement may be made on a case-by-case basis for those who work or own a business in Steuben County, Indiana. Contestants who were awarded first place in the previous year may not compete in the competition the following year. Individual applicants are only eligible to enter into one age category (adult or youth) as determined by the contestant’s age on June 1 of the year of the performance. A group applicant, that is compromised of more than one performer, will enter into the age category into which the majority of your performers fall. Groups must consist of 20 people or less. Due to constraints on stage space and electrical capability, Angola’s Got Talent will need to determine how many/which type of instruments/equipment/props can be accommodated on a case by case basis as registrations are submitted and upon further questions by Angola’s Got Talent. Decisions on whether or not certain instruments/equipment/props can be accommodated will be communicated to the contestant prior to the final performance, but the decisions made by Angola’s Got Talent will be final. Fire and/or sharp and/or dangerous objects are not permitted in the performance or auditions. Any animal included in the performance must have proof of vaccination.

Eligibility to participate in Angola’s Got Talent requires that contestants are not professional musicians; do not or have not in the past had any type of talent representation such as a talent agent or manager, a music recording contract, a merchandising contract, or any other contractual arrangement related to an ongoing musical performance (for example, a paid professional musical theater role). Contestants who progress to final round agree to be available to participate during the June 15 performance. Contestants who are not available for the June 15 performances will forfeit and the opportunity will be awarded to the next runner up from auditions, as applicable.

Auditions

For the preliminary auditions, be prepared to perform one song of no more than five minutes in length. You must record your audition on your own, upload it to the internet (i.e. youtube, vimeo, etc) and share the link with us as part of your entry form.
